Advanced refund bonds - bonds
whose debt service is paid by escrowed funds.
This eliminates a bond issue from the obligations of the issuer.
What happens is they issue new bonds, then buy government obligations with the proceeds.
They then escrow those government obligations so the government obligations can provide the Debt service on their original issue.
